Listen…

I created the new tradish during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to share my creations with others.

As a White-presenting American Indian woman, wearing beaded earrings became an easy way for me to express my Indigenity because I don’t look like a “traditional” American Indian.

surprise! it me.

surprise! it me.

Coming to terms with the lightness of my skin, the blueness of my eyes, and the unruly nature of my curls felt like a lifelong journey. Imagine my surprise when I found out the magical powers of wearing beaded earrings. Slipping on a pair of beaded danglies provides me with the confidence to enter any space with my head held high (even if that place is a karaoke bar and I’m just back to embarrass myself again haha).

the new tradish blends traditional and contemporary styles to reflect the living, ever-changing nature of the world, and I’m excited to have you here as part of the process.

More to come… eventually.
